Bringing Hope to Rural Communities

There are 26 ethnic minorities living in Yunnan who mainly live in remote mountainous areas, working as farmers, and speaking their own tribal language. Typical farming villages have around 50 families. Many countryside people, especially women, have very little education. Family incomes are normally less than $150 per year per person. These villages usually have no toilets, no water treatment systems, and are far from schools and hospitals. Preventable infection diseases are a common high risk in these villages due to lack of health and sanitation education. The proportional high cost of health care for these rural people often keeps them poor.
Partners in Hope's purpose is to help improve the living standards of poverty strike ethnic minorities in Southwest China, especially those who are most disadvantaged including children, women, and seniors. The services we provide include community development, agriculture training, educational support, simple and economical environmental protection skills, and disaster relief.
